To Daniel.

So my wacky and over-the-top colleague, Wu Zun(pseudonym), was finally back after an 8-day stint in Taiwan.

With a coy look she asked,"so do you wish to know what is your present???" And went on to present me with this:

And so the dearest Wu Zun decided to get this novel(220NT) as a gift for me and even went as far to their tv station to get it signed and specified 'TO DANIEL'.

Before you jumped to conclusions, i declare

1) Once again I'm not some idol-chasing fan and i didn't instruct her to do anything near that(I merely asked her to if possible help me get A*Mei's signature. WHAHAHAHA)

2) I'm not a super big fan of Ariel Lin, but i enjoy her performances in every idol drama starring herself. Coz seriously, i think that bitch can REALLY ACT STUPID among the other actresses.

Although im neither of the above, i was still slightly moved when this crazy little lady gave me the novel. Knowing i have always like Ariel's versatility in every of her drama, specially in 'It Started with A Kiss.'

For the first time, i felt the genuine meaning behind 'Its the Thought That Counts'. Appreciate her effort, kinda sweet la. I would still be equally touched even if there isn't any signature.

Unbelievable right, someone so outrageous and weird like Wu Zun actually touches my heart. Think i must start to treat her better WHAHAHAHA.

Next up, I met up with my cousin before she flew back to Japan last week. As usual, she gave us a treat and i thought i was Qin Shi Huang, thickskin-ly ordered a $99++ set dinner(there is a $499++ set).

My set which comes with a Soft shell crab, a slice of wagyu beef, lobster noodles, Buddha jumps over the wall, and superior Birds Nest with almond.

Not very appetizing.


I was abit disappointed at the start of the dinner, i was expecting some meaty soft shell crab. COM'ON its a $99++ set.

The crab was overly covered with flour, no difference from any other mid-end japanese restaurants. But i still gobble it up, coz its not atrocious, just mediocre and very over-valued to be included in the set.

My mood was saved when my steaming hot 'Buddha' was served shortly after,

mini abalone.


every ingredient in that celestial bowl of soup was cooked to purrrfection, if not then almost perfect. Even the mushroom tasted like Heaven.

Forget about those super hard to chew New Moon canned abalone. I never adore abalone, coz they always came across as hard and chewy but the abalone in my Buddha soup was succulent and tender, all you need is just one bite and u will feel like Mr. Buddha or Lady Guan (Guan Yin Niang Niang).

The presentation was not very wow. At first sight, it looks hard and chewy. Do not be deceived by this grumpy looking twat. This is another succulent juicy dish. Something worth mentioning is that the broccoli beside, is like the BEST broccolis i have EVER eaten.



Lobster noodles was just ok. A little salty.
I'm a salt lover, yet i find it salty. Just imagine.




Bird's saliva.


Unfortunately, i hated the smell and taste of almond. So i exchanged the bird's nest for my cousin's honey dew sago.

She was so happy to change with me and added that im stupid.



She's mad at me for calling her Lydia Sum.

王祖贤 or 张曼玉(Maggie Cheung) .

Lobster salad. Hmmmm just lobster and papaya.
Nothing out-of-this-world about this dish.






One-person portion bamboo clam with lots of garlic.



My cousins were complaining about the excess garlic sprinkled on the bamboo clams. I dunno why but i thought the garlic was necessary, it sort of covers the typical smell u get from oysters, clams, humps ah.



Very delicious broccolis, usually i aim the scallops.
This time round, i aim both.


Surprisingly, the very familiar scallops with broccolis was actually my 2nd favourite dish of the night. The broccolis really took my tastebuds away.



Crispy noodles with seafood.
Hell lot better than the ones you find at ur Zhi-Char Stall.
